Rev. Shawn Garnett – General Youth Secretary

Rev. Shawn Garnett is a man with vision and expectation for the future of Pentecost, while his
roots hold firm to the foundations of this great truth.
Shawn Garnett is a graduate of Garnett Christian Academy (built in honor of his father). Born
fourth generation Pentecost, his grandfather, the late Rev. Luther Evans was one of the first to be
baptized in Jesus’ Name in the Wilson County area. His father, the late Rev. Earl Garnett, served as the
Associate Pastor for the Pentecostal Lighthouse and possessed a great passion for music, evangelism, &
truth. He spent many years travelling and ministering with the “Apostolic Echoes,” preaching across the
country, and most importantly leaving a lasting legacy for his young boys. Although Shawn lost his father
at the age of 13, the mantle was passed, and these passions still burn fervently in the heart of his son.
Shawn has been associated with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ all of his life. Rev.
Garnett evangelized for two and a half years through the ALJC Evangelistic Department and has also
served as the S.E. District Youth President for the past 10 years. Rev. Garnett has served as Pastor of the
Pentecostal Lighthouse (PLC) of Elm City, North Carolina since September of 2000. Throughout the past
10 years, the Pentecostal Lighthouse has experienced tremendous growth under the leadership of Rev.
Shawn Garnett and are now embarking upon a building program which will allow more room for youth
ministries. All services of the PLC are archived weekly through the church’s web site @ www.plhc.org.
Rev. Garnett is married to Beth Garnett, who serves as the Church Secretary and the Christian
School Administrator(GCA). They have 3 beautiful children, Breanna, Luke, & Olivia and together they
lead worship as well as the PLC Sanctuary Choir each week.
Shawn & Beth’s burden for people doesn’t start and end with the church building itself, but for
this world as well. A vision was birthed almost 3 years ago, and together they serve as licensed Foster
Care Parents for the State of North Carolina. Bringing hope, life, and truth to the lives of children is a
passion that they both share.
Rev. Garnett believes our students are ready to propel into Apostolic Truth. Now is the time to
reap this great harvest. He has full confidence in the Apostolic Crusaders of the ALJC and believes they
are capable of continuing in the biblical truths: One God, Repentance, Baptism in Jesus’ Name, and the
infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Without compromising our
heritage, we can reach to our generation and compel them to come in. He believes it is a promise to
today’s youth, and through exciting programs such as: National Youth Conventions, District Camps, and
mission trips, truth will be instilled in our 21st Century Apostolic Crusaders.
